For all you golfers who hit the dreaded banana ball. See yourself playing tennis and hit a shot into the left hand corner of the court. What action did you use? What was the feeling or sensation you felt. It was a inside to square to inside. Putting right to left spin on the ball. The opposite of what you do to slice the ball or hit the tennis ball into the right hand corner of the court. Outside, cutting the ball putting left to right spin on the ball. Also when you go the  range bring along a cardboard box (4"x4"x 24" long) line box toward target and place ball 1" from box and start hitting golf balls. If you don't have a box come by my shop and I'll give you an old shaft ox. All over the top swings will hit the box. Best to put ball on tee and use a 7iron. Very important for golfers to keep their  right elbow as close to your right hip on your down swing as possible. Opposite for lefties. Clear your hips and have your belt buckle aiming at target at ball impact. Watch Tour Pros on TV and you will see these positions.

To all parents and grandparents. Never to early to get a child out to the golf course or driving range. Does not cost anything to practice putting. Outside off the couch is up to you. I am great with Junior golfers.

Driver tip. Shorten length to 42.5" to 43.5".  Longer and straighter for most golfers. Ricky Fowler plays 43.5" length.

Putting tip. Focus on distance control first. More important than line. Imagine tossing a golf ball to the hole. Feel that touch. Plus for beginner golfers. Use your putter whenever possible.

Driving tip. Tee your ball as high as high as possible. Catch the ball on your up swing. I see to many beginner golfers top their drives.

2018 PGA Tour driving distance stats. 3.6 yards increase. Average tour pro clubhead speed is 113.7 mph, launch angle 11.1, ball spin rate 2641rpm. Top 10% club head speed 119.7, launch angle 10 10 degrees, ball spin rate 2520 rpm. Since 2002 driving distance on 7 worldwide pro tours there is a average increase of 2.9%.

In the UK the average male golfer drivers the ball 215 yards and ladies average 148 yards.

Hole no.5 at The Masters will be lengthen 40yards to 495 yards. Possibly making it the no.1 most difficult hole. It now will take a drive of 313 yards to carry the fairway bunker. It's a uphill drive. So good luck.

When golf equipment manufactures and PGA Tour Pro's every year tell us how much better 2015 clubs are,  why is it that PGA Tour Pro's scoring average or performance doesn't improve?

I don't believe golf equipment has made players better over the lasts 5 yrs. It didn't help Phil or Tiger make the cut January 2015 tournament. Did you see how the spin rate of Phil's driver helped him shoot 3 over.
Set make up, fitting and lessons are what golfers need. Not $450.00 drivers, $375.00 putters and $150.00 wedges.

Get your present clubs fit to you. Most likely your club length is wrong and set make doesn't fit your game. Save your money, play more golf  and laugh at the bad shots!
